What kind of crop do farmers grow the most in Russia?
According to recent estimates, up to 48% of agricultural products in the country are produced by private farms, as well as peasant farms. This is largely due to the development of this area and its support from the Ministry of agriculture. The state has provided farmers with tax benefits (a special tax regime at the rate of 6% and the abolition of certain other taxes), as well as comfortable conditions for the development of cooperatives. Grown products are distributed not only to the domestic market but also for export.
What crops are grown by farms in Russia?
The demand for organic vegetables and fruits is constantly growing. In Russia, people prefer to buy local products, because most are convinced that these products were grown without the use of chemicals. Therefore, these vegetables can be safely consumed. Farms respond to this demand by growing the following products:
strawberries, watermelons, and other berries;
mushrooms, onion bunch and radish;
eggplant, garlic, cabbage, and cucumbers;
peppers, tomatoes, and other herbs;
soy, sugar beets, and even tobacco;
potatoes, apples, grapes, and corn;
wheat, barley, and other crops.
However, there are still many gaps in this area, which are rapidly being filled by investors, including foreign ones. And if you analyze the figures, it will be clear in which areas of the agricultural sector there is a shortage of supply.

However, it is difficult to calculate how much of this product is grown both on household plots and on small farms.
Corn, oats, and rye are also in the middle positions. Feed corn is sown on 21 thousand. Ha, maize – about 12 thousand Ha. Oats also belong to the crops used for feeding livestock.
